The conference began with a focus on higher education in Australia. A panel consisting of Jennifer Nielse, Ross Jennings, Jennifer Oliver, Judy Genat and John Henik, presented about examples and opportunities for exchanges and other forms of cooperation with Australia colleges.
During the CCID Board meeting, the Board Chairman, Dr. Sharples had the pleasure of welcoming a 4-member delegation from the CCID member college in China - Wuxi Institute of Technology in Jiangsu province.

Sunday Keynote: "Economic Cooperation and Education: Two Decades of Experience in the German Diplomatic Service" was delivered by the Honorable Countess Kendeffy, Consul General of the Republic of Germany in Miami, FL

On the occasion of its 30th Anniversary, CCID organized a special prize drawing for the dinner guests. The winner was Ms. Keki Yoku from the Jikei Group in Japan. Her reward was a red CCID scarf, CCID mouse pad, a couple CCID pens and a luggage tag.
W. Kubsch Award Ceremony - Bob Keener, the winner of 2006 W. Kubsch Award, offered a few remarks. On the occasion of 20 years since the first award was presented, Countess Kendeffy addressed the crowd with a few words commemorating Dr. Werner Kubsch. The plaque with all past W. Kubsch Award winners was on display during the luncheon and afterwards.
Sy Fersh Memorial Lecture this year was presented by a panel of internationalists from HIghline Community College, who showed the audience ways on how the colleges can reach out to their communities with their international efforts. Panelists: Ms. Judy Perry, Mr. Michael Allen and Ms. Raegan Copeland.
Dr. Orlando George, President of Delaware Technical and Community College introduced the Monday plenary presentation by Dr. Sabahattin Balci, Principal at Cankiri Technical College in Cankiri, Turkey. Dr. Balci provided a comprehensive overview of the Turkish higher education system.
Our Tuesday plenary speaker was Mr. Ko Kodaira, International Adviser at Jikei Group in Japan. Mr. Kodaira spoke about the role of Japan in Asia. Plenary audience listened with interest to Mr. Kodaira's presentation.
