The goals of this program are multifaceted:

  • For the US colleges that are hosting students as part of the State Department Awards, this is a way for faculty and administrators to learn about the culture from which students come.
  • The program will provide opportunities to meet with the Fulbright Commission members in Egypt who have responsibility for recruiting students.
  • Opportunities will be provided for participants to further explain the nature of the US community college.
  • Opportunities will be provided to meet returned students and to learn from them of special challenges represented by re-entry.
  • Opportunities will be provided to visit with US companies and the American Chamber of Commerce, to advise on student qualifications and employability.
