Dr. Grace Liu's contribution to Global Education at St. Louis Community College are remarkable and numerous touching wide ranges of areas influencing many students, faculty, staff, administrators, institution and community leaders both home and abroad. Her achievements are many not only impacting our district but also in and out of the state. In fact, her leadership in global education was the foundation of the district involvement in international affairs.
She is recognized as the premier promoter of the most impressive International Week celebration in mid-America. Her impressive organization skills led to the formation of a trully diverse and hardworking Global Education Committee that is the model for many midwest community colleges. The Committee's careful and detail planning for each academic year focuses on a particular theme, details responsibilities, highlights activities, and ties in with the district educational objectives and strategic plan. Her success in the leadership and management of her duties were highlighted by an assessment of the Global Education programs conducted by the american Council for Education (ACE). Grace was complimented in that report and in fact became the "expert" and "consultant" for site visits arranged by ACE.
Grace's innovative programs have been recognized with local and national awards becuase she fully engages the presence of international students, faculty, staff, and administrators. We all recognize that Grace devotes her personal and professional life to the goal of connecting people; she has proven her devotion and dedication to that cause. She is trully and achiever in international education.
