Linda has served since 1993 as the Executive Director of a fine international organization, and had long recognized the critical importance of community colleges' speaking in one voice about global competency. She is an inspired and inspiring voice for gloabl education; endeed, she has spent her whole career engaged in a variety of different ways in that work. |

She is fluent in French and Spanish, and provifient in Italian. Her breadth of vision is rooted in her capacity to bring the lens of different languages to her teaching, learning, and leading. She has managed an astonishing workload as Chair of Modern Language Department and then as Dean of the Division of Humanities, Languages and the Arts at the college just outside Chicago where she works. |

She has chaired the Global Studies Advisory Committee and annual Cultures' Week program at this college, and also coordinated the college's participation in the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs. |

As a key shaping spirti of the conferences held at the Airlie Center, she also served as rapporteur, subsequently co-authoring the widely circulated and influential reports: Building the Global Community: The Next Step (1995) and Educating for the Global Community: A Framework for Community Colleges (1997). She also participated in the writing of New Expeditions: Charting the Future of Global Education in Community Colleges (1999). |
