The Winner of Dr. Werner Kubsch Award 2010

Mr. Ronald X. Roberson
Vice President of Academic Affairs
Howard Community College
Columbia, Maryland

Ron Roberson 2010 Winner

Over the past 10 years, Ron Roberson has established a thriving international education program at Howard Community College, working with numerous colleges regionally, nationally, and internationally to help them advance their international collaborative efforts.

His enthusiasm for establishing international education programs has been critical in garnering the support of the college’s board of trustees, which established its first policy advocating international education in 1999. Under his skillful leadership, the college international education programs have flourished, winning the

  1. Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators,
  2. and the International Intercultural Achievement Award from the American Council on International Intercultural Education.

Ron Roberson has led the College’s international efforts, personally negotiating agreements with institutions in Italy, China, Denmark, Turkey, Macedonia, Mexico, Estonia, Scotland, and Ireland, among others.

However, one of the most critical facets of his leadership has been their support of faculty, staff and students as they grow and build upon these relationships. Because of this support, partnerships and student study abroad opportunities have been developed with numerous organizations (both in education and in other areas) across the globe such as Malaysia, Kuwait, Ghana, France, the Dominican Republic, England, Lithuania, South Africa, and Russia.

It is our very great pleasure to announce that Mr. Ron Roberson of Howard Community College, is the 2010 Award winner of the Werner Kubsch Award.
